This quote dates back more than a century, to the last days of Japan’s shogunate. The words were penned by Ryoma Sakamoto, a pioneering reformer of that era, who conceived a vision for Japan 50 to 100 years into the future and forged a path through tumultuous times in pursuit of that vision.
Having been born into this world, Sakamoto wanted to achieve what only he could achieve. His strong ambition contributed hugely to Japan’s subsequent development.
So, do you have an ambition that you would give your all to achieve?
Our aim is expressed in the SoftBank Group's Corporate Philosophy: “Information Revolution—Happiness for everyone.”
During the next 30 years AI will surpass the capability of the human brain. The time will come when devices equipped with AI will become more powerful than our brains and connect the entire world through networks. Then we will be able to share our joys and sources of inspiration together. This wellspring of human happiness is unlikely to change.
At SoftBank we want to do whatever we can to reduce sadness and increase happiness. The SoftBank Group’s ambition is to use the limitless power of information technology to make people happier.
We want to hire people who will be exhilarated by our ambition. If that’s you, we want you to come and work with us.
We only get one life. So isn’t it worth doing work that people the world over will admire 50 to 100 years from now?
